    Dear section members,

     

    As you may know, the Young Lawyers Section typically sponsors a professional development presentation for their section members on the Third Thursday of every month on zoom from 12-1pm. However, the topics this year are just too good, so they are extending the invitation. Please see the attached flier for details or keep on reading and please see the NSBA Event Calendar to register now for the January-April presentations! We hope to see you there!

     

    CLE rates apply for YLS Third Thursday presentations as follows:

    $65/credit hour – Regular Registration

    $50/credit hour – NSBA Sustaining Member

    $25/credit hour – NSBA Sustaining Member Junior Actives

    Free – Law students and YLS Section Members

    • May: In lieu of a Third Thursday program this month, we encourage you to attend the May 19 YLS Full Day Seminar in Lincoln. More information coming soon.
    • June 15: Microsoft 365 – Taking Advantage of What you are Paying For (1 CLE hour, FREE for all Sustaining members of the NSBA!)

    • July 20: Microsoft Office Summer School: Excel & Word - 2 Hour Deep Dive (2 CLE hours, FREE for all Sustaining members of the NSBA!)

    • August 17: Beginning conversations about DEI in the workplace (1 CLE credit pending)
      • Presenting: Shawntal Mallory, Nebraska Legal Diversity Council
    • September 21: Law Practice Management – Setting Fees, Payment Plans, & Representation Agreements (1 CLE credit pending)
      • Presenting: Katie Martens, Martens Law Office & Robert Bryant, Cada, Cada and Jewson
    • October: In lieu of a Third Thursday program this month, we encourage you to attend the YLS Program at the NSBA Annual Meeting. More information forthcoming.
    • November 16: Ethical issues for New Practitioners and Mental Wellbeing (1 ethics credit pending)
      • Presenting: Chris Aupperle, Nebraska Lawyers Assistance Program
    • December: There will be no Third Thursday program in December. We hope you have a great holiday season!
