Welcome to the Member Community for the NSBA Public Interest Law Section. The Section is dedicated to providing a statewide forum for attorneys who practice or are interested in public interest law. Public interest law is defined broadly as legal practice in the service of otherwise unrepresented or underrepresented persons or interests and is wide-ranging, encompassing subjects including, but not limited to, civil rights, civil liberties, environmental protection, international human rights, consumer protection, poverty, employees’ rights, sexual identity rights, education, election reform, rights of criminal defendants, corporate reform, children’s rights, and disability issues.

We are delighted to offer this interactive forum to our members. If you have questions or ideas for how we can improve this community and its resources, we want to hear from you. This is, after all, your section and our success is dependent on your active participation. Please send your questions and ideas to your section leaders:

Chair: Kala Mueller  Vice Chair: Misty R. Christo   Secretary/Treasurer: Mark Carraher

Executive Committee: John D. Cartier; Christine D. Henningsen; Ryan P. Sullivan;  Kathryn E. Welsh; Allison Derr; Christine Stolarskyj.
