Welcome to the Nebraska Lawyers Assistance Program Committee (NLAP) Community.  As an NLAP Committee  member you are a valuable resource to your colleagues.  NLAP offers confidential assistance to lawyers, judges and law students struggling with mental health (e.g. depression, anxiety and compassion fatigue), substance use disorders (drug and alcohol addiction), gambling addiction, stress, work-life balance, and cognitive issues (related to forms of dementia, like Alzheimer’s and strokes).  NLAP staff and NLAP Committee volunteers are covered  by special confidentiality rules contained in Neb. Ct. R. of Prof. Cond. §3-501.6(c) (Confidentiality of Information) and Neb. Ct. R. of Prof. Cond. §3-508.3(c) (Reporting Professional Misconduct).  The goals of this community are to provide a means to communicate about NLAP initiatives, resources, and educational/outreach events.

We are delighted to offer this interactive forum for your work. If you have questions about the NLAP Committee or ideas for how we can improve this community and its resources, we want to hear from you. This is, after all, your committee and our success is dependent on your active participation. Please send your questions and ideas to the NLAP Committee Co-Chairs, John Green or Jon Jabenis or NLAP Director, Chris Aupperle.
