    This seminar is approved for 5.0 hours of CLE credit in Nebraska.

    TIF for City Attorneys
    Michael D. Sands, Baird Holm LLP

    Tax Increment Financing (TIF) is a public funding mechanism in Nebraska, authorized by the Nebraska Constitution and statutes allowing municipalities to help pay for public improvements and enhancements associated with redevelopment projects in blighted and substandard areas. Join us to find out what city attorneys should know about TIF in this session.

    Land Use Updates

    De-escalation Tools for When Emotions Run High

    Conflict appears in all facets of life. Yet, many of us are never taught the best ways to manage and de-escalate conflict, whether professionally or in our personal lives.

    In this session, attendees will learn strategies and tools to set them up for success when facing highly emotional situations.

    Enforcing Your City Code

    In this session, attendees will learn all about enforcement of municipal ordinances, plus an overview of recent caselaw involving the Vacant Property Registration Act and enforcement of demolition of dangerous buildings.

    Legal Aspects of Bond Issues

    From state law authority to Federal securities and tax law, this session will cover basic legal issues encountered by bond counsel that may be useful to city attorneys in advising city council.
