Spring is here, and we're excited to share our plans for the remainder of 2025! Our executive committee recently met to map out upcoming events and initiatives, and we'd love your involvement.
�� Annual Meeting CLE – We'll be presenting a one-hour CLE on the Nebraska Data Privacy Act at the Annual Meeting. Stay tuned for more information on the schedule and registration information, which will be released this summer.
�� Pizza & Privacy at the Law Schools – Our committee is seeking interest from our two Nebraska law schools in hopes of providing a panel of data privacy and cybersecurity professionals on each campus for a Q&A and networking event. This will accomplish law school outreach, inform students of these emerging specialties, and potentially filling in possible gaps in the privacy, cybersecurity, and emerging technologies curricula. If you are interested in participating in a panel or have topic ideas/requests, please email Bri Petersen at bpetersen@nebar.com.
�� Summer Seminar: Legislative Update CLE – Stay ahead of Nebraska's evolving data privacy laws, including the safe harbor law for class actions and the Children's Privacy Act. More information on where and when soon!
�� Get Involved! We're seeking nominations for Vice Chair and other ways for members to engage. If you're interested, please reach out and I'd be happy to share more details on the time commitment and expectations.
�� Tech Corner Submissions – We're also looking for topic ideas and contributors for The Nebraska Lawyer's bimonthly Tech Corner. If you have insights on privacy, security, or emerging technology trends, we'd love to feature your expertise!
