    All:

I am City Attorney for Ainsworth. They have an individual in town whose favorite pastime is complaining about all the things he perceives the City to have done wrong. He lodged a complaint recently that notice of the March 12 City Council Meeting was not posted on the Nebraska Press Association website. When the City Administrator looked, she confirmed it was not on the press association site and additionally confirmed that the newspaper itself had failed to print it. She had sent it for printing as she normally does. The paper recently changed hands and there have been some issues in things not making it in.

But for this one individual I don't know that there would be any issue. However, I've been asked if there should be any sort of remedial action at the next meeting and if so what that may be. Is it as simple as having the City Council acknowledge the omission and ratify all action taken at the March 12 meeting?

Thank you, in advance, for any input.

    Best regards,

That is exactly what I would do. Redo notice for the issues on the agenda and then ratify each of those items with a new vote.

I agree – publish notice for your next meeting and then ratify everything that was approved at the last meeting.
